Netizen in Action

Netizen in Action

There's never a bad time to take a look at your business with fresh eyes. Whether you're taking a quick break after the holidays or have a free weekend to spare, consider leveling up your shop with a new look.

We offer shops a variety of free design templates to choose from, and right now we're admiring how folks are putting their personal touches on the Netizen theme. The strength of Netizen is that it displays your products in a straightforward way, but has fun and quirky details like gradients and big banner images with optional overlays. It's the perfect combination a shopping experience that is easy but never boring.

Here are a few shops that we think are using Netizen just right.

Laurie Lee

Shop

Why it works: Designer Laurie Lee's strong aesthetic works seamlessly with the Netizen theme. Her edited color palette makes it easy to match when customizing store settings, and her bold and feminine photography style stands out in any layout. Laurie's shop is only slightly modified from the default settings (check out that electric pink button background), and we think it's working great.

Iris de la Torre

Shop

Why it works: Artist Iris de la Torre shows us how different Netizen can look when you forego some of the wackier elements. The gradients are gone, and the color selections are pulled directly from Iris's logo and products, and the result is clean, vibrant, and simple to navigate and scroll. (We'll take one of each.)

TIED

Shop

Why it works: TIED is known for the unique material combinations in their home goods, and they've used Netizen to reflect their aesthetic. The blue and pink color selections bring to mind the candy-colored resins used in their product line. The wavy lines in the banner image add to the vibe, while helping customers focus on the shopping navigation.

Check out the Netizen demo store or spend some time getting to know all of the free Big Cartel themes on our Themes page. Once you're ready for something new, log in to your shop admin to give Netizen or one of our other themes a try.
