School budgets are tight. To make an inspiring, productive environment for their students, many teachers reach into their own pockets to buy basic supplies. To help bridge the gap, DonorsChoose.org makes it easy for teachers to crowd-fund specific projects or supplies.

Big Cartel is proud to donate $15,000 this month to bring art and music to over three dozen different classrooms across the US. Teachers make magic happen, and art programs in schools are an important part of exploring creativity and getting a glimpse at non-traditional career paths.

We wanted to focus on projects helping to develop the next generation of artists by expanding or simply funding existing programs. Some classes need more instruments so there’s enough to go around, some students are eager to try ceramics for the first time. And some classrooms just need a fresh set of crayons and paper.
