A Decade of Big Cartel

Yesterday was a giant milestone in the life of Big Cartel — our 10th birthday. It's not easy to keep any business going strong for ten years, let alone one born and raised on the internet, so we owe a great thanks to all of the artists and makers that have helped us reach this day. You've set up shop with us, you've told your friends about us, you've helped us improve our tools and service, and you've inspired the next generation behind you. Thank you.

We also need to thank our small but mighty team. And when we say small, we mean "about the size of our competitors' janitorial staff" small. But somehow this tiny group has been able to support nearly a million shops, and those shops have combined for well over a billion dollars in sales. Most of all, we're proud of the company we're building together. We're independent, bootstrapped, profitable, scrappy, full of heart, and more art than business. We're a true oddball in our industry.

We also couldn't help throwing a little party in our hometown of Salt Lake City and inviting a few friends. Thanks again, and here's to the next ten.
